Fill the whole asset group, not two thirds of it.

Performance Max and Demand Gen want landscape, square, and portrait together, three of each. Most brands upload one ratio and quietly lose the inventory the others would have reached. Paste a product URL and get the full set.

How it works

One product page in. A complete asset group out.

Google will happily run an asset group with one square image. It will just quietly compete for less inventory than the group next to it, which had all three ratios.

Step 01

Paste your product URL

LocalAds reads the real product page, so packaging, colours, and claims stay accurate. No brief to write, no prompt to engineer, no shoot to book before an asset group can go live.

Step 02

Generate every required ratio

Landscape at 1.91:1, square at 1:1, and portrait at 4:5, each built as its own composition with the product positioned for that frame. Add 9:16 for the Shorts inventory Demand Gen reaches.

Step 03

Upload three of each and let Google rotate

Google's own guidance is three assets per orientation for maximum placement coverage. That is a volume problem, and volume is the part generating from a product URL removes.

Asset specs

What an asset group actually asks for.

Performance Max and Demand Gen share most of this list. Demand Gen adds 9:16 for full-screen vertical inventory, and both want three images per orientation for full coverage.

What you get

Ratios that were composed, not cropped.

Composed per ratio, never cropped

Cropping a square down to 1.91:1 removes most of the height and cropping it up to 4:5 removes the sides, so whatever you positioned for the original frame ends up clipped or floating. LocalAds composes each ratio separately, with the product placed for that shape from the start.

  • Separate compositions for 1.91:1, 1:1, 4:5, and 9:16
  • Product kept whole and central in every frame
  • Headline space planned per ratio rather than inherited
  • Size variations on a finished creative cost no credits

Built for asset group coverage

Google rates an asset group on the variety it has to work with, and a group missing an orientation is a group that stops competing for that inventory. The practical target is three images per orientation, which is a production problem long before it is a strategy problem.

  • Three landscape, three square, three portrait as the working target
  • Up to 20 image assets accepted per orientation
  • 9:16 added for Demand Gen's vertical inventory
  • 5 MB per image file ceiling, which generated output stays well inside

Strategy underneath the assets

Performance Max decides which asset to show, but it cannot invent an argument you never supplied. LocalAds builds the audience and angle first, so the nine images in a group are nine genuinely different propositions rather than nine crops of one idea.

  • Audiences, angles, offer frames, and hooks generated before rendering
  • Each asset traces back to the branch it came from
  • Distinct angles give the algorithm something real to choose between
  • Regenerate one branch without disturbing the rest of the group

Product accuracy from the page, not a prompt

Shopping and Performance Max put your creative next to your own product feed, so a generated image with the wrong cap colour or an invented label is immediately visible. Generating from the live product page keeps the physical product right.

  • Packaging, colourway, and label detail read from your product page
  • Brand kit support for logo, fonts, and colours
  • Magic Edit fixes a single element without a full regeneration
  • Every version kept in the feed, so nothing is overwritten

What fills an asset group.

Unedited LocalAds output from real customer product pages. Performance Max picks between the assets you give it, so the assets have to be genuinely different propositions rather than one idea recoloured.

LocalAds makes the image assets

Every ratio a Performance Max or Demand Gen asset group asks for, composed per ratio and accurate to your real product, with enough distinct angles to fill a group properly instead of padding it with crops.

LocalAds does not run Google Ads

We are not a Google Partner, we do not place, bid on, or manage campaigns, and we never need access to your Google Ads account. You upload the assets and run the buying yourself. Logos and text assets stay yours to supply.

FAQ

The questions Google buyers actually ask.

What image sizes does Performance Max need?

A landscape image at 1.91:1 (1200 x 628 recommended, 600 x 314 minimum), a square at 1:1 (1200 x 1200 recommended, 300 x 300 minimum), and ideally a portrait at 4:5 (960 x 1200 recommended, 480 x 600 minimum). You also need a 1:1 logo, and a 4:1 landscape logo is worth adding. Google accepts up to 20 images per orientation and recommends three of each.

What is different about Demand Gen assets?

Demand Gen uses the same 1:1, 1.91:1, and 4:5 images, and adds 9:16 vertical at 1080 x 1920 (600 x 1067 minimum) for full-screen vertical inventory such as Shorts. Images cap at 5 MB, logos at 150 KB. Carousel cards have to share one ratio across the whole card set.

Can I just upload one square image?

You can, and Google will serve it, but the asset group only competes for the inventory it has a matching asset for. A group with one square image forfeits the placements that want landscape or portrait. The reason most accounts do this is production cost, which is the specific problem generating from a product URL solves.

Does LocalAds generate my logo?

No. Logos are your brand mark, and Performance Max wants your real one at 1:1 and optionally 4:1. Upload it as part of your brand kit and LocalAds will respect it inside the creative it generates, but it will not invent a logo for you.

Does LocalAds place or manage Google Ads campaigns?

No. LocalAds is not a Google Partner, does not buy or manage media, and does not need access to your Google Ads account. We generate the creative you upload yourself. Bidding, budgets, and campaign structure stay entirely with you or your agency.

Do the same assets work on Meta and ChatGPT?

The square overlaps, the rest does not. Meta's feed default is 4:5 at 1080 x 1350 and Stories and Reels want 9:16 at 1080 x 1920, while a ChatGPT Sponsored card takes a 1:1 square with no baked-in text. Same strategy, different frames, which is why each surface has its own page here.

Fill the group

A missing ratio is
missing inventory.

Nobody skips portrait assets on purpose. They skip them because producing a third composition costs another shoot. Paste a product URL instead.
